Geosyntec is growing in the Northern California area, and we are looking for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist for our Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance Practice in our Oakland, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento offices, who loves digging into the details of environmental due diligence and environmental regulatory compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historic research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments;
- Providing environmental and/or health & safety compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi-media);
- Designing and implementing environmental management systems and programs for corporate clients;
- Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); and
- Providing litigation support services, under attorney-client privilege.

- Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
- Fieldwork: Up to 25%
- Overnight travel: Up to 15%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
- Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G., CSP) (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and/or environmental assessment (including Phase I ESAs in accordance with ASTM E1527). (required)
- Detailed Federal and California regulatory knowledge, especially RCRA and EPCRA. (preferred)
- An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
- Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
- Minimum Salary: $79,205 / Maximum Salary: $142,985 (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
- Minimum Salary: $75,765 / Maximum Salary: $136,765 (Sacramento)
