Fann Contracting, Inc - Northern Arizona’s leading heavy-civil and trucking contractor is searching for a Transfer Station Trucking Foreman to join our team.   This physically challenging position is open to CDL holders, men or women, with heavy truck driving and leadership experience.  Job location is at the City of Prescott (C.O.P.) Transfer Station and requires no overnight travel (home every night).  This Foreman position is a full time, permanent, day shift opening with great benefits.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Class A CDL with tank and hazmat endorsements.
  • Have experience hauling loads using 53-foot trailers (walking floor experience is a plus).
  • Be able to operate all types of transmissions on our fleet of Mack Trucks.
  • Will have strong knowledge of E-logs and paper logs for DOT Compliance.
  • Have excellent management/leadership skills to oversee 6 or more CDL truck drivers.
  • Justly supervise and schedule monthly crew shifts (transfer station schedule will typically need to adjust during certain times of the year due to amount of rubbish coming in).
  • Understand and adhere to federal and local DOT regulations for safety and compliance.
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with City of Prescott transfer station employees.
  • Professionally communicate with C.O.P., Waste Management and North Gateway Transfer Station operators and staff.
  • Complete a thorough/detailed Supervisors Daily Log.
  • Complete Critical Behavior Observations (CBOs) weekly (safety coaching review process).
  • Complete accident and injury reports.
  • Position trucks/trailers for loading and hauling using the “Yard Dog” truck at the facility.
  • Have excellent 53-foot trailer backing skills.
  • Oversee and document meaningful Driver Safety Meetings every day.
  • Climb ladders, walk on top of loaded trailers to adjust/secure garbage from blowing out.
  • Tarp trailer loads during inclement weather.
  • Check all truck and trailer tires nightly, may need repairs before morning deliveries.
  • Maintain equipment in “like new” condition.
  • Thoroughly inspect and perform minor to medium repairs on trucks, trailers, and yard dog.
  • Grease all truck and trailer zerks weekly.
  • Inspect and adjust brakes.
  • Maintain and change heavy truck (semi) tires with rims.
  • Regularly maintain walking floor trailers, tarps and other equipment.
  • Regularly perform con-box office and parts inventories.
  • Have substantial familiarity with truck weighing scales/operations.
  • As the project leader, you must have some schedule flexibility to assure safe, productive and smooth operation.
