Status: Exempt $90,000-$110,000

Job Purpose

The Project Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and coordinated execution of projects in the field. The purpose of this position is to manage and lead all aspects of assigned projects, including reviewing prints and specifications to provide estimates, award subcontracts, review job budgets, provide job status updates, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews daily reporting from field;
  • Maintains project schedules and budgets;
  • Ensures proper labor, equipment, and procedures are being utilized;
  • Coordinates necessary licenses and permits;
  • Ensures all subcontractor, material and equipment needs are met;
  • Investigates and resolves project issues;
  • Helps implement quality control programs;
  • Reviews and approves project submittals;
  • Review and approve contract amendments when they arise;
  • Provides oversight and reconciliation of subcontractor activities; and
  • Manages project performance and profitability, including outstanding receivables;
  • Analysis/evaluate estimates for optimal job performance;
  • The split between field work and office work is based on need. Duties will primarily be performed in the office.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of college degree required;
  • Minimum 5+ years previous related experience;
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the construction industry (pavement preservation is a PLUS);
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend detailed construction plans, drawings and specifications;
  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the field, management and clients;
  • Advanced computer skills required;
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment; and
  • Must be proactive and solution oriented.

Working Conditions

  • Requires extensive computer use for long periods of time;
  • Noise level is typically quiet while working in the office;
  • Ability to work outdoors in an environment that may contain variable temperatures, dust, dirt, fumes and loud noise; and
  • Ability to work flexible hours in both the field and the office (primarily office).

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers to probe, handle, or feel and reach with hands or arms;
  • Required to sit for long periods;
  • Required to listen and respond in a professional manner; and
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
