ABOUT THE ROLE
The Revenue Accountant helps advance the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization by providing a wide variety of financial support services in a professional manner. The Revenue Accountant will serve as the agency’s expert on all matters regarding program billings, receipts and associated required reporting. The primary responsibility is to accurately and timely record program revenue, ensure its timely collection, and achieve all associated compliance requirements.

Located in Renton, WA, this position reports to the Finance Manager.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Be the internal expert in all financial matters related to revenue from programs.
  • Process, prepare, submit and record all program invoices in the accounting system on a timely
  • Work with finance department colleagues to ensure correct coding of accounts receivable receipts.
  • Work with cross functional teams to track all funding sources, payments received, and make all necessary adjustments to financial records.
  • Submit all required reports to funders accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile all the payments received and record Credit/Debit Memo when necessary.
  • Assist in month end closing processes including maintenance of associated detail analyses.
  • Assist in preparation of yearly budget and quarterly end-of-year forecasts.
  • Assist in financial audits and implement audit
  • Develop and implement proper maintenance of financial records, making use of current
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy, internal controls and accounting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study
  • 2+ years of related accounting experience
  • Moderate to high level Excel skills
  • Ability to track and keep multiple tasks progressing simultaneously to timely completion
  • Knowledgeable and effective in maintaining electronic and written records in an organized manner. Able to craft emails.
  • Strong skills in decision-making and self-advocacy (requesting assistance from staff when necessary). Able to work independently and concurrently with different tasks.
  • Able to work in high-pressure situations and take responsibility for completing assignments by deadline.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse clients and agency staff; be aware of other needs and advocate for safety.
  • Be in acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural/spiritual differences.
  • Ability to use the senses of sight and hearing to effectively perform responsibilities.
  • Comply with all Childhaven policies and procedures.
