Job Summary:

The individual filling this position will work primarily first shift with the benefit of being home every night. This individual will maintain and operate a doubles/triples trailer, hauling various materials from quarries/sand & gravel pits to jobsites for placement, backfill, and stockpiling.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a truck/trailer to transport materials such as asphalt, gravel, etc. to and from sites
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Use hand tools to clean out trailers when needed
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Maintain cleanliness of the truck
  • Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must hold a Class A CDL with Double/Triple Trailer endorsement
  • Must have a current valid DOT physical
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
  • Demonstrate good judgement and discretion
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends as required by business demands

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years driving experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to hear and see effectively to perform job duties
  • Ability to climb, bend, sit, and stand.
  • Ability to maintain consciousness
