ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting and leading elements of multi-disciplinary project teams, managing and mentoring junior staff, and managing subcontractors;
  • Performing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies;
  • Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment and passive water treatment solutions for rural settings;
  • Applying innovative hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, including models focused on water quality transport;
  • Floodplain mapping and flood mitigation designs;
  • In-stream, urban, and rural stormwater water quality monitoring, and modeling;
  • Working as a team member in the development of construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;
  • Preparing erosion and sediment control designs;
  • Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA);
  • Preparing, reviewing, and managing written documentation;
  • At times, job may include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments.

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm.   • Overnight travel: Up to 40%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E., CPESC, CPSWG). (preferred) 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 
  • Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS. (preferred)
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance and environmental assessment/remediation. (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $86,800.00
  • Maximum Salary: $112,840.00
