Job Summary
This position assists in the day to day yard operations of shipping, receiving, loading and inventory control of warehouse materials and support plant operations for Concrete Industries in Nebraska City. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receives and unloads freight either manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order; stocks shelves and rotates inventory.
Participates in physical inventories of warehouse and maintains inventory records by adding or deleting product as they are shipped or received.
Operates a personal computer to access, enter, and correct information; answers phones and provides information.
Provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability.
Prepares damage claims for supervisor's review and signature; may coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage records retention.
Prepares inventory for shipment according to designated paperwork.
Performs minor repair and maintenance of the lift truck, informs appropriate personnel of any major equipment problems.
Maintains the warehouse area in a clean and orderly manner.
Assures SDS forms are maintained and up to date for accurate information and immediate review.
Assists other personnel in completing other tasks as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and
- Previous experience in industrial distribution, warehousing, logistics, and/or supply chain management; or
- An equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid NE Drivers’ license.
- Ability to complete certification requirements of the forklift safety program within 30 days of employment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Previous forklift and manual pallet experience.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
