PROJECT DIRECTOR - QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

Reports to:  Director of Qualitative Research & Survey Design

Experience:  3 to 6 years in Qualitative Research

 

Job Summary:

SSRS is seeking a Project Director for Qualitative Research to join our team. SSRS conducts research around a wide variety of topics, including health care, public opinion, politics, sports, technology, religion, media use, financial health, and a host of other important issues. Our clients come from academic, non-profit, government, and commercial sectors and our work informs critical decision-making in all those areas. Our team is made up of people who are passionate about research and are skilled in all aspects of the research process, including study design; quantitative data collection using telephone, internet, mail, and mixed mode methods; qualitative research; and analysis and reporting.

 

We are seeking a Project Director to support and manage a wide variety of qualitative research projects conducted for non-profit, commercial, academic, and government clients.  The Project Director is responsible for supporting and conducting all aspects of high-quality qualitative research including in-depth interviews, cognitive interviews, focus groups, online bulletin boards, and other qualitative techniques. The PD is responsible for the execution of research projects from study initiation through analysis and reporting. The PD oversees all work involved in successful project execution. 

 

Ideal candidates are based in our Glen Mills, PA office, but remote work is a possibility for the right candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Qualitative Research & Survey Design and work with client service teams to implement qualitative research.
  • Design and develop recruitment screeners and qualitative protocols.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual qualitative interviews and focus groups and facilitate online bulletin boards.
  • Monitor progress of qualitative studies to meet goals and provide support to troubleshoot issues that emerge.
  • Responsible for quality control and delivery of qualitative data, including transcripts, interviewer notes, and bulletin board data.
  • Analyze qualitative data using appropriate software and synthesize data into actionable client reports and presentations in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Support client relationship development and ongoing communications.
  • Other duties as the needs of the business dictate.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in social science, communications, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Candidates must have RIVA certification (or comparable training) as a focus group moderator and 3 to 6 years of experience moderating focus groups and conducting in-depth interviews. Experience facilitating online bulletin boards is preferred.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research with diverse populations.
  • Experience managing all phases of qualitative research studies.
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in qualitative data analysis using one or more qualitative software products, such as NVivo.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are encouraged.
