Purpose:

  • The cost analyst will be responsible for the Company’s cost accounting function inclusive of: invoicing, cost tracking, accounts receivable, payroll submissions, and other accounting related reporting and processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages division accounting activity including: invoicing, payroll submissions, cost tracking, and internal auditing
  • Interact with business departments and operation teams to drive efficiency, improve the vendor relationships, and ensure client billing is completed timely and meets division standards
  •  Create project invoices using vendor invoices, field tickets, billable labor, site costs, and other internal reports
  • Manage job files creation and well completion files
  • Validate/Sort/Copy/Price field Daily Time Reports for invoicing
  • Provide monthly AR aging report to management
  • Perform audits of equipment rental log
  • Report Daily Rig cost estimates to clients
  • Report weekly Site cost estimates to clients
  • Review and approve weekly timesheets prior to submission to payroll
  • Review and approve internal invoicing for equipment/wireline/fishing tool/welding/conductor pipe
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred; however, candidates with significant AR or other finance related experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • 5+ years of invoicing, accounts payable/accounts receivable experience required
  • Previous experience supporting a business with a time and materials billing model
  • Previous payroll related experience preferred

License/Certification:

  • None required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to act as a leader as well as take a “hands on” approach for the daily transactional responsibility
  • Possess strong personal computer skillset including MS Office and accounting software
  • Demonstrate proactive communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
  • Possess Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to confidently present information to internal employees
  • Exhibit strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work for subordinates

Travel:

  •  Travel will be required on an as needed basis

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time, sometimes up to 4-6 hours
  • Exposure to computer screens and cellular telephone screens
  • Walking, stepping, climbing stairs to access or otherwise move from one location to another which normally involves walking within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access areas as required
  • Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • As primarily a sedentary position, this role requires the individual to be seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair
  • Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments and holidays as required
