Thern is seeking a talented and driven Logistics Manager to join our team!  The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership ability, high level of attention to detail, thrive working together within a small, dedicated team and can deliver high levels of customer service.  In addition to having excellent organizational skills, you should also possess in-depth knowledge of logistics and inventory management systems.

 

Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•    Lead and manage shipment schedule(s) including coordinating deliveries and pickups with customers, trucking companies, and loading dock.
•    Develop and manage cost effective, service focused carriers/forwarders to meet Thern’s global logistical requirements.
•    Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives and plans within company guidelines.
•    Point person to manage air, parcel, LTL, truckload, ocean container, etc. transportation modes to meet or exceed company guidelines.
•    Develop and manage freight carriers including quotations, quality, and delivery.
•    Lead and execute an inventory management strategy to determine how to increase inventory turns and reduce waste.
•    Verify the accuracy of the inventory location strategy by counting and auditing our inventory data and implement improvements to the inventory process.
•    Lead the logistics department to reduce costs by combining opportunities for inbound freight, while improving service and timeliness for outbound freight.
•    Manage the inventory warehouse, material flow, shipping, receiving, and crating within defined guidelines.

 

Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College or technical school; or 7+ years related experience and/or training working in logistics. 
•    Experience working with companies in a high mix product offering. 
•    Ability to perform effectively with fluctuating workload.
•    Ability to work with multiple functions to coordinate the flow of information.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
•    Experience leading a team either in a manager or supervisor role
•    Ability to supervise projects including providing direction to peers.
