Primary Function:
Under the direction of a project manager, assist in the overall administrative and technical direction of construction projects.
Typical Duties:
- Work on all or a part of the construction effort to ensure project(s) is(are) constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. May include interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.
- As directed by the project manager, may plan, coordinate or supervise activities of company personnel on assigned project(s).
- As directed by the project manager, may negotiate or prepare purchase orders, subcontracts, requisitions, change requests, claims, etc. As directed by the project manager, may assist in maintaining official project logs and documentation files.
- As directed by the project manager, may assist with preparation of pay estimates, equipment reporting, income/expenses, cash flow, production reporting, Costs to Complete, etc. As directed by the project manager, may assist with the preparation change order proposals and claim documentation. Protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
- As directed by the project manager, may assist with planning, scheduling, coordination of shipping and tracking of materials to project ,and engineering functions as required.
- As directed by the project manager, may assist with implementation, interpretation, and enforcement of safety plans and programs.
- As directed by the project manager, assist on-site Superintendent and on-site staff to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare takeoffs and do estimating for selected projects to bid as assigned.
- Perform additional assignments per project manager's or Vice President of Operation's direction.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year engineering degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related construction experience. Extensive experience in construction. Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods plus hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination desired. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills essential.
Knowledge of general business practices desired.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office and on a construction site. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction site in all types of weather.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working outside.
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt from overtime position. Days and hours of work will depend on production schedule. This position is based out of Napa, CA and travel is required to jobsites.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year
