This is a full-time position with a salary range from $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 a year, based on experience. Benefits include 401k, Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Assistant Project Manager position is an exempt employee that oversees multiple projects and ensures that American Thermal Systems is providing a quality product, within budget, on schedule and maintaining customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Regional Vice President and Project Manager 1.
REASPONSIBILITES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with the Project Team to develop project material takeoff, assist with estimating and writing proposal
- Work with field crew and management to ensure job specific safety plan for the project
- Create staging, logistics, and phasing plan for project
- Participates in coordination of subcontractors
- Set up project in Procore software
- Participate in project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilization
- Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings
- Issue and administer subcontracts (payments, insurance, bond, safety, haz-com, etc.) and purchase orders for multiple trades
- Assist in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedule. Attend/direct regular job scheduling meetings
- Participate in project quality control plan implementation and compliance
- Conduct bi-weekly safety surveys with project superintendent
- Prioritize, review, and expedite submittals
- Expedite material deliveries according to project schedule requirements
- Develop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change orders
- Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget
- Prepare payment requests and monitor collections
- Job permitting and assisting to maintain local licensing to review project and inspections
- Enter and update information in project management software (job status reports, projections, change orders, and RFI’s)
- Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures (closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting)
- Write detailed RFQs and review quotes
- Interview experienced subcontractors and vendors, ensure that they meet our minimum requirements for each job
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Construction experience required
- Experience in multiple aspects of construction projects including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
- Working knowledge of Procore and construction software
- Basic understanding of financial accounting systems
- Exceptional communication, both (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Technical writing skills
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to travel a minimum of 30-40% of the time, when necessary
- This position is not remote, it requires you to live in Birmingham
