At CL Construction our Millwright laborers are driven, motivated and willing to take direction, able to problem solve efficiently, work well with others, and represent the company in a positive manner at all times.  This Team is responsible for the installation, assembly, repair, and preventative maintenance of grain facility equipment.   Tasks will require the use of various hand and powered tools, reading a tape measure, standard level, and the ability to identify basic tools. Millwrights will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and/or failures, conduct maintenance of equipment such as conveyors, belts, motors, bearings, etc. and assemble and/or install catwalks, ladders, legs, chutes, and other similar agricultural grain site parts.  Appropriate behavior, adherence to safety standards and a predictable and reliable attendance pattern are critical to success in this role. 

Our Millwright Teams travel from the Lincoln office to jobsites and back home each night.  From time-to-time it may be necessary for Millwright Teams to participate in overnight travel depending upon the job location and scope; in which case CL Construction provides transportation, lodging and daily per diem.  Note, this IS NOT a traveling millwright role, millwrights are most often home nightly.

Desired experience and knowledge

  • Agricultural Millwright – specifically conveyors, bearings, motors, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with agriculture bin site related mechanics/equipment
  • Jobsite experience and high safety standards
  • Metal fabrication, stick welding and ability to identify metal thicknesses/sizes preferred
  • experience with rigging, structural steel erection and sheet metal fabrication preferred

Required skills and abilities

  • A desire to work hard, know when to ask questions, and the capacity to learn new tasks quickly
  • The ability to maintain a predictable and reliable attendance pattern
  • The ability to utilize fall protection devices such as a harness and work from extreme heights
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs frequently an 100lbs occasionally
  • Skills to read a tape measure, level and use powered and hand tools
  • Flexibility to bend, twist, kneel, lift, push, pull, stand and sit throughout each shift
  • Manual dexterity to grip, hold, carry, use hand tools and move materials
  • Capacity be on your feet the entire shift, wearing safety toe shoes and on a variety of walking surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and in loud, dusty environments

Pay based on experience and qualifications $20 - $26/hour
