Position Summary
The Commercial HVAC Technician performs the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial heating and cooling equipment, including rooftop units, furnaces, central air-conditioning systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain HVAC systems, including Hydronic, Steam, Forced Hot Air, and Heat Pump systems
- Read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment
- Maintain a high standard of mechanical installation practices
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Deliver quality workmanship while adhering to company safety standards
- Complete documentation and service records accurately
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 to 5 years of HVAC service and installation experience, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC and related equipment
- CFC Certification required
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen and any required background checks, including DMV and criminal history reviews
- Commitment to following all company policies and procedures

- Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment

- Ability to work independently in a commercial setting

- May be required to drive or ride in a vehicle for two or more hours at a time
- May work at outdoor job sites with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Frequent use of hands to handle tools, equipment, and controls
- Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous physical work in field conditions
- May work with or around construction materials and chemicals requiring safety data sheet knowledge
