As a Carpenter at Construction Engineers, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from commercial offices and schools to healthcare centers and industrial facilities. Whether it's constructing a new building or renovating a public facility, you'll be part of a team that delivers quality to our customers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Study and work with blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
- Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall while ensuring adherence to code and specifications.
- Install cabinets and molding.
- Assemble and fasten materials to construct wood or metal frameworks using bolts, nails, or screws.
- Anchor and brace forms and structures using various techniques.
- Prepare project layouts and verify the trueness of structures.
- Erect frameworks, lay subflooring, build stairs, and install partitions and cabinet work.
- Cover subflooring and lay different types of flooring.
- Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, and finish hardware.
- Construct forms and chutes for concrete pouring.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for above-ground work.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent and/or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Two to three years of prior carpentry experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to calculate figures and apply the basics of geometry.
- Physical ability to climb, bend, stand, sit, walk, lift, kneel, push, pull, and crawl as required for the job.
- Good hand-eye coordination for tool usage.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
