Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Process Control Systems Engineer for an onsite position in the Shreveport, LA area.
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Client Facility - Shreveport, LA.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary
Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required
Essential Functions:
- Work full-time onsite within a client facility in the Shreveport area to assist with DCS and PLC based process control system upgrades.
- Provide process control scoping functions with operations and maintenance staff onsite to ensure communication protocols are achieved throughout Loop Migration Strategy.
- Develop data mapping and control logic diagrams.
- Get familiar with the process details to ensure operational needs are addressed and assist in system cutover planning.
- Review and cross-check P&IDs, instrument indexes, cable schedules, I/O Lists, and C&E charts to ensure the control system design basis is solid.
- Review instrument specs and control valves for compatibility with the new control system
- Develop control narratives throughout functional levels of process control and ensure graphical displays are configured to match operational requirements.
- Review and assist with instrumentation wiring details to ensure the control system and field construction is executed without issues.
- Audit and correct control panels drawings, electrical schematics, and field wiring drawings.
- Review third-party panels construction and programming, cross-check the program with IO list, C&E, and Control Narrative.
- Witness FAT test control systems on behalf of the client in the shop and note redlines generated during FAT testing.
- Assist with field commissioning, from loop checking to sequencing to updating documentation.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (BSChE or EE Preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in Petrochemical and/or Oil & Gas industry supporting process control applications
- Ability to provide DCS & PLC Programming support
- Background with Honeywell TDC & Experion (LCN & PKS) desired
- Additional background with Allen Bradley & Triconex helpful.
- Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to interface with plant staff.
