Responsibilities & Essential Duties
Safety Director basic functions are to manage all aspects of Lantz Construction Company’s Safety and Health Program.

Area of Expertise Requirements
- Develop and maintain company-specific safety and health programs for all Lantz Construction Company divisions (125+ employees).
- Training Programs - implement and conduct training
- Project Inspections - maintain presence on job sites and conduct routine comprehensive inspections to ensure compliance
- Accident Investigations - investigate to determine root cause analysis and make recommendations to prevent future recurrence
- VOSH/OSHA Inspections - manage inspections including any required or necessary follow up actions
- Required Documentation - maintain records confidentially and accurately (i.e. employee training, OSHA 300, accident investigations)
- Attend necessary meetings with our team as well as subcontractors at all stages of the work to incorporate safety in all aspects of the work.
- Other duties to include but not limited to budget planning, presenting safety data and information, ongoing communication efforts, etc.
Expected Hours of Work: Typical days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40+ hours per week. Field employees starts as early as 6:00 a.m. so flexibility to work different hours if needed for site visits is critical. On call responsibilities are a part of this role.
Certifications (required)
- Authorized Trainer for OSHA 10-HOUR and OSHA 30-Hour
- Authorized Trainer for CPR/First Aid
- Authorized Trainer for Hazwoper
- Certified Lead Renovator
- Construction Health & Safety Technician
- ASHE trained
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry or general industry, including safety responsibilities, personnel management and leadership
- Competent in a multitude of IT platforms (e.g., MS-Office, MS-Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, IS Net World, J J Keller On-line)
- High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- College degree (preferred, not required)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Demonstrates good judgment and reasoning in investigating and solving problems, including those with employees and subcontractors
- Demonstrates good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of clients, the company and all personnel
- Takes immediate and decisive steps to find solutions to health and safety hazards that affect the company or clients
- Must have valid driver license and a good driving history
- Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations with ease
- Ability to lead team members to get cooperation
- Ability to work in all weather
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day between job sites and the main office.
