Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Sr. Project Engineer for a hybrid corporate office based position in Texas.

Essential Functions:

  • Work Full-Time within a client's Corporate Capital Projects Team and support ongoing projects at facility locations.
  • Position will allow for a hybrid work location to work remotely with travel to facility locations in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Dallas Project Management Office. 
  • Support project development of refinery large capital projects through Opportunity Identification and Option Selection Phases (FEL 2/3).
  • Partner with corporate functions (Commercial, Technology, Innovation, Supply Chain), local Refinery Leadership Teams, and Capital Project Leads in early project development activities.
  • Focus on the development stages and lead the efforts of an annual capital projects portfolio. 
  • Gather information to support project definition, problem statement, and project objective function.
  • Have knowledge of refinery processes and help achieve the client's long range targets.
  • Manage internal and external resources for engineering and design for project specific development deliverables to meet appropriate level of detail at staged gates.
  • Lead site project development review meetings providing clarity to assurance requirements and development goals.
  • Validate the project scope and execution plan of projects prior to approval for funding (AFE) and identify value engineering opportunities and portfolio risks.
  • Provide front running of vendor scope & proposals necessary to request and secure any OPEX funds needed for early development and ensure scoping and budgeting are adequate during CAPEX phases.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to communicate developed project scope, deliverables, critical milestones, and funding plan.
  • Be resourceful and have high performance standards across all work to ensure project success.
  • Act in the best interest of the client performing work with regard for ethics and integrity in business matters.
  • Follow all client standards and project execution procedures.
  • Provide accountability and regular communications with project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure project commitments toward schedule are achieved.
  • Support project reporting metrics and manage deviations.
  • Promote safety in all aspects of involvement.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (BSChE or BSME Preferred).
  • 10 years plus of combined experience supporting engineering projects for refineries and/or petrochemicals plant facilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and performance metrics.
  • Ability to make site visits and lead in all project communications. Greater than 50% of projects will occur in the West Texas area.
  • Current TWIC Card needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Attention to detail.
