Caswell Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician & Installer to join our team in Inwood, IA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and plumbing installation/repair. Perform a range of tasks related to HVAC system maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation plus plumbing system installation & maintenance. Full-time position, M-F, 8 hours a day, overtime is optional & dependent on workload. *On-call is not mandatory. Excellent compensation offered $25-$40 per hour (DOE) plus benefits!

What you do!

HVAC System Maintenance & Repair:

    • Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning systems, ventilation equipment, and related components.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
    • Perform routine cleaning, filter replacements, and lubrication of HVAC components.
    • Ensure proper refrigerant levels and system pressures are maintained.
    • Complete necessary documentation and reports related to HVAC maintenance and repairs.

HVAC System Installation:

    • Assist in the installation of new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, wiring, and controls.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate installation.
    • Test and commission newly installed HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality.

Plumbing Installation and Repair:

    • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.
    • Identify and repair leaks, blockages, and other plumbing-related issues.
    • Collaborate with contractors and other team members for plumbing system installations.

Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with HVAC and plumbing systems.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste.

Customer Service and Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

    • Maintain inventory of HVAC and plumbing equipment, tools, and supplies.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

What you need! 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC and plumbing apprenticeship or trade school is preferred.
  • Relevant HVAC and plumbing certifications and licenses (EPA Universal Certification, HVAC Journeyman License, etc.).
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician and Installer with strong HVAC/plumbing skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems and plumbing components.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and controls related to HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes, regulations, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
