Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our Baton Rouge Office Team.

Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required.

Essential Functions:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary design team in a consulting office environment and virtually with other engineering peers and clients.
  • Provide process engineering support across projects regarding equipment design basis and deliverables production.
  • Connect with other Keystone offices across the Gulf Coast as a shared resource. 
  • Perform process modeling using simulation tools for applications in chemical plants, refineries, and pipeline engineering.
  • Act in a lead role supporting process design function by active participation as a knowledgeable resource within cross-functional teams and mentoring less experienced process engineering staff. 
  • Be able to participate in client interactions, fostering strong relationships and cultivating industry connections to support the fulfillment of the team's requirements.
  • Provide review of equipment specifications and yield analytical results to confirm the sizing basis for process equipment including compressors, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, and reactors. 
  • Perform hydraulic modeling to analyze flow characteristics in process scenarios.  
  • Perform validations of pressure relief systems including PSV's, flares, and vents. 
  • Provide process engineering input during front-end loading and detailed design package development.
  • Prepare and review documents including PFDs, P&IDs, scope of work, and equipment specifications to support capital projects.
  • Review equipment design and piping systems for compliance with relevant industry design codes and client standards. 
  • Represent process engineering activities in PHA's & HAZOP. 
  • Lead by example to develop credible and practical solutions using sound engineering practices.
  • Be able to present findings in meetings and demonstrate a high level of integrity in work approach. 

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of process design experience from consulting office and/or plant assignments.
  • Hands-on experience with process modeling software. 
  • Leadership traits and ability to mentor others. 
  • Ability to make field trips as necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Attention to detail.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with Refineries and Chemical Plants.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
