Tony's Diesel Service, Inc is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their growing company.  

Here's what you will do:

  • Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Service Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner and other Class A trucks
  • Corrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Verifies performance by conducting tests, adjusting controls and systems.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

 Here’s what you will need to be successful:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Mechanic/diesel schooling preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Your own hand tools
  • Natural troubleshooting ability
  • Mechanical and/or electric aptitude; proficiency to diagnose and repair
  • Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information
  • Work safely

  • Competitive pay ranging from $20-$40 per hour, depending on experience
  • Working Monday thru Friday, and finished by 5:30 daily (no weekends or evenings)

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in a loud environment on occasion due to the nature of the shop. (Safety gear is provided)
  • Ability to walk, kneel, step, lift, bend, stoop, reach and grasp objects on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds such as tools, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a majority of each day.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff in both verbal and written format
  • This job is in a shop environment, and as such, you will get dirty. Uniforms are provided.
