Tony's Diesel Service, Inc is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their growing company.
Here's what you will do:
- Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Service Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner and other Class A trucks
- Corrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Verifies performance by conducting tests, adjusting controls and systems.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

Here’s what you will need to be successful:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Mechanic/diesel schooling preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Your own hand tools
- Natural troubleshooting ability
- Mechanical and/or electric aptitude; proficiency to diagnose and repair
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information
- Work safely

- Competitive pay ranging from $20-$40 per hour, depending on experience
- Working Monday thru Friday, and finished by 5:30 daily (no weekends or evenings)

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a loud environment on occasion due to the nature of the shop. (Safety gear is provided)
- Ability to walk, kneel, step, lift, bend, stoop, reach and grasp objects on a frequent basis.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds such as tools, equipment, supplies, etc.
- Ability to stand or walk for a majority of each day.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff in both verbal and written format
- This job is in a shop environment, and as such, you will get dirty. Uniforms are provided.
