Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Shop Service Technician to join our Bakersfield, California location. The Shop Service Technician is essential in delivering timely and effective repairs and maintenance for John Deere and CWP equipment, ensuring our clients experience minimal downtime and operational reliability. This role involves conducting in-depth diagnostics, performing repairs, and supporting clients by addressing their equipment concerns. As a critical member of our service team, the Technician upholds Coastline’s commitment to quality and customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complex Diagnostics and Repair: Conduct advanced on-site diagnostics and execute complex repairs on John Deere construction and CWP equipment.
- Training and Development: Participate in required Service EDUCATE Training programs, staying current on service techniques and product knowledge.
- Customer Support and Documentation: Review and discuss maintenance, repair, or service concerns with clients, documenting all work on the work order.
- Sales Support: May promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customers, enhancing our clients' long-term equipment performance.
- Inventory and Equipment Management: Partner with the Parts Department to implement effective stocking processes for seasonal parts, maintaining service vehicle, trailer, and equipment condition.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on John Deere and competitive products to provide the highest quality service.
- Safety and Reporting: Adhere to all safety regulations, completing all necessary reports and documentation for each service task.
- Accountability: Ensure accurate tracking of all time and materials used in work assignments, maintaining transparency and accountability.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in service repair, specializing in construction or CWP equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for heavy equipment.
- Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly and operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
- Advanced or Master Service Technician certification preferred.
- Forklift license preferred.

Physical Demands: The physical demands for this position include the ability to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects frequently.
