SUMMARY

Large Ready Mix operation seeking a licensed electrician. He/She will be responsible for installation, repair, maintenance & troubleshooting of in-house electrical components, motors and motor controls. Comfortable with 480v. The requirements below represent the required knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform this job successfully.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong work ethic
  • An electrician license; apprentice or journyman  
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Electrician.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and alcohol screen
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions/extreme environments (heat, wind, cold/icy weather, etc.)
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Understand and able to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to identify wires accurately
  • Ability to perform electrical tests read results, and diagnose and repair electrical problems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical systems
  • Critical thinking
  • Circuit knowledge
  • Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction.
  • Set major equipment, including breakers, switches, instrument transformers
  • Install, repair, and maintain conduit, grounding, motors, transformers, generators, lights, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components
  • Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers
  • Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation
  • Ability to supervise technicians
  • Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems
  • Self-motivation to keep up with current electrical advances using modern technologies
  • Using industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronics
  • Time-management skills for meeting deadlines
  • Forklift, skid steer, mini excavator, trencher, and/or man lift experience
  • Experience working with Volt Meters, IV curve machines, IR testers, etc.
  • Project clean up

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Following the National Electric Code (NEC)
    • Observing company safety guidelines
    • Adhere to state and local building regulations
    • Ensure compliance with design drawings, electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Sourcing or fabricating replacement electrical components.
    • Ability to follow safety guidelines
    • Inspect electrical components, including transformers and circuit breakers
    • Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems
    • Use hand and power tools
    • Create records of materials used
    • Set up and test computer systems by running cables and connecting jacks and plugs.
    • Understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings
    • Drawing up preventative maintenance measures and explaining these to clients and other electricians.
    • Interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication
    • Making presentations to clients and coworkers
    • Attending company meetings
    • Maintaining Safety documentation and records
    • Preparing cost estimates and time estimates
    • Inspecting electrical components during and after the product installation
    • Testing electronics for problems and proposing solutions
    • Using several tools to install and service electrical systems
    • Documenting each project and updating records
    • Training Apprentices
    • Diagnose Electrical Faults
    • Providing Plant Maintenance Assistance when needed
