What we are looking for:

Conti is looking for an experienced Crane Operator for our project in the Hampstead, NC area with experience who can Safely operate the following cranes:

• Manitowoc 10,000
• Grove 65 TN

Responsibilities

• Safely apply all techniques of crane operation to include but not limited to starting and manipulating levers for moving equipment and attachments checking for all hazards e.g. power lines, below grade structures, etc.
• Perform proper placement of H Piles, Sheet Piles, and Rebar Cages as needed.
• Review and/or participate in the development of crane hoisting information planning sheets for lifts as required by legislative jurisdictional requirements and advise supervision if a critical or engineered lift procedure is required.
• Check that the site is adequately prepared for the crane and its usage.
• Know, understand, and properly use crane load charts and confirm load and rigging weight.
• Host and move materials, raise, and lower heavy weights, etc.
• Perform daily routine pre and post inspection, fuel, lubricate and service unit per manufacture’s instruction or as required.
• Select the appropriate boom, jib and crane configuration to meet lift requirements and determine the net lifting capacity of this configuration.
• Assess weather conditions (i.e., wind conditions) at time of lift to confirm lift can safely proceed.
• Shut down and secure the machine as per manufacturer’s specifications and company policy.
• Understand and perform safety procedures regarding equipment operation under various conditions to include night operations and less than ideal conditions and inform site supervision of any dangerous conditions observed before or during crane operations.
• Adhere to company processes, procedures, and policies as they pertain to your job.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be NCCCO certified on Lattice Boom Crawler (LAT).
• Must be NCCCO certified on Telescopic Boom RT (TLL).
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a certified crane operator on Heavy Civil/ Marine projects.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with pile driving.
• Proficiency in handling, pre-start inspections, post-start inspections, maneuvering skills, shut down and securing procedures.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• A thorough knowledge about safety precautions while working
• Work requires exposure to construction site environments having extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, hazardous substances, and loud noise levels.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Provide personal transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Must have a valid DOT medical card.
