The Shop Manager is responsible for efficiently managing the daily operations of the facility. This role involves overseeing visitor management, maintenance of equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized workspace.

Shop Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing and managing the overall maintenance of facilities
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility maintenance
  • Performs maintenance duties to include cleaning, stocking, purchasing, and organizing
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, roofing, access controls, and parking
  • Have an eye for detail pertaining to cleanliness of facilities
  • Schedule emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Verify visitors, issue necessary PPE and conduct safety orientation
  • Ensure visitors are directed to the appropriate staff members or areas
  • Manage and schedule yard activities
  • Document all equipment and inventory that arrives to or leaves the shop.
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the yard and all the equipment in it.  
  • Oversee the management of small tools acquisition and distribution to job site.
  • Create a schedule of maintenance of certain items within HCSS360
  • Maintains vendor relationships and vendor accountability
  • Inspects verifies vendor work when onsite performing maintenance
  • Approves invoices generated within division
  • Reconciles credit card statements of team
  • Assists in the Capital Expenditure Budget and scheduling of facility modifications, including cost estimates
  • Any other duties as assigned

Shop Manager Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience managing a facility, preferably in the construction industry
  • 1 -3 years’ experience managing direct reports
  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter, highly organized, and creative
  • Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to accurately benchmark project length, deliver on deadlines
