GENERAL FOREMAN
The General Foreman is to oversee one or more self-perform crews in their performance of various trades to ensure quality, schedule, and adherence to the plans and specifications. The General Foreman may also oversee other foreman on the project.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5+ years previous foreman experience
- 7+ years of experience working as a tradesman
- Current OSHA 30 certification
- Strong verbal, written, communication and leadership skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative and forward thinking
- Computer literacy
Preferred:
- Two or four-year construction-related degree
- 10+ years of experience working in different trades
Office and Travel:
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Assist in the hiring of craft labor
- Plan and execute self-perform work with assistance from the Project Manager and Superintendent during preconstruction and construction phases
- Manage one or more crews on project which may include oversight of Foreman
- Manage craft staffing needs on projects in coordination with Project Manager and Superintendent
- Support our safety culture by supporting all safety-based activities and protocols on a project
- Mentor and work with fellow McGough employees
- Track crew members’ hours
- Conduct daily pre-task meetings
- Oversee Tool Watch and Consumables on the project. Work with McGough Service Center on tools, equipment, materials and prefabrication needs for project.
- Work with Quality Control team to ensure project-specific requirements are met
- Assist superintendent with the project logistics
- Help maintain budget set for the project including labor, materials and equipment
- Participate in Pull-Plan-Sessions, safety meetings, daily huddles
- Build and maintain strong relationship with fellow subcontractors
- Support and follow standard work
- Participate and support implementation of Lean and continuous improvement culture
- Mentor and work with fellow McGough employees
