Job Summary:
As a Working Foreman B you will perform duties supporting vegetation management and tree trimming related operations. Work may be performed within the minimum approach distance of energized electrical lines. As a Crew Leader, you will manage a small crew in clean up and chipping operations.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Responsible for the operation of a work crew (crew lead).
- Individual must be a Lift/Equipment Operator A or a Climber A with a minimum of 2 years experience in either classification.
- Must be willing and able to perform the role of all crew member classifications.
- Additionally includes planning daily/weekly crew activities, adherence to safe work practices, cordial interaction with property owners/customers, appropriate equipment utilization and individual crew member productivity.
- Supervise operations in brush chipping, wood hauling and moving vegetative material
- Must be able to work within the minimum approach distance to energized power lines
- Assist crew members with gear setup and maintenance
- Assist climbers with gear preparation and inspection, setup, and aerial work-related tasks
- Safely and efficiently operate light equipment such as chainsaws, weed eaters, pole trimmers, and blowers.
- Safely and efficiently operate chippers, vehicles, and aerial lifts/bucket trucks from the ground
- Maintain basic knowledge of tree workers' aerial climbing techniques and activities
- Must be able to perform all aspects of trailer hauling and towing
- Maintain and implement safe work practices in accordance with industry standards or policies
- Must be able to regularly lift 50lbs or more
- Must be able to work outdoors, year-round in varying environments
- Must be able to work in, around and amongst poisonous plants and noxious vegetation
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Greater than 2 year of experience in the tree care or vegetation management industry
- Valid Driver License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial Driver License: Class A or B
- Qualified Applicator License (QAL)
- Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC)
- TRAQ Certification

Travel:
- This position is expected to travel to project sites and locations within Puerto Rico (including Vieques and Culebra)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Sites can be very hot and dusty.
