Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced FileMaker Developer to join our team. The FileMaker Developer will play a pivotal role in designing, managing, and maintaining custom applications within the FileMaker platform. This role requires a strong understanding of database management, software integration, and the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, design, and implement custom FileMaker solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of Benson Woodworking Company. 
  • Manage and optimize existing FileMaker databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Integrate FileMaker solutions with other business systems, ensuring seamless data flow and communication. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for FileMaker applications, including system architecture, workflows, and user guides. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to FileMaker applications in a timely manner. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies related to FileMaker development. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining custom applications within the FileMaker platform. 
  • Proficiency in database design, scripting, and administration in FileMaker. 
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including normalization and relational database concepts. 
  • Experience with software integration, API utilization, and data exchange between different platforms. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • FileMaker Certification(s). 
  • Familiarity with other relevant technologies (e.g., SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS). 
  • Experience in a construction or architectural environment a plus.
