Job Summary: We seek an honest, reliable, flexible, organized, detailed and positive Purchasing & Back Counter Parts Specialist for Ceres office equipment, heavy equipment,  and truck repair facility. The ideal candidate will leverage the personality traits above with prior heavy construction purchasing and parts experience. He or she will source, select and obtain parts in a fast-paced environment. More specifically:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: They will: gather orders; obtain quotes; assist with purchasing decisions within set budget; assist with managing inventory and returns; provide assistance and support to the technicians; assist with repair and service estimates and reports; pick/take parts to local vendors for third-party repairs; operate a skid steer, forklift, and loader (optional: operator duties for select candidates); operate company trucks with attached utility trailers;  follow the proper procedures for performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain complete and accurate records and logs of all driving and deliveries; load and unload trucks, trailers, and semis; keep shop areas neat and safe; provide excellent customer service; and assist with deliveries at all company locations. Data entry and other duties may be needed.

Essential Qualifications: 

- HS diploma or GED at a minimum

- Able to read and write legibly 

- Minimum of one year of experience making local deliveries 

- Familiar with Houston and the surrounding areas 

- Confident, customer focused, and professional 

- Basic mathematical skills, including a strong eye for detail 

- Good verbal and written communication skills 

- Available to work the required shift hours/days, including Monday to Friday and Saturdays 

- Must have reliable transportation and a valid state issued driver's license 

- Must pass a pre-employment screening including an MVR, background check

 

Desired Qualifications: 

- One year of experience with general laborer duties and making local deliveries

- One to two years of heavy equipment parts exposure/experience

- At least two years of purchasing experience

- Ability to negotiate favorable pricing

- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Excel and Word)

- Professional and clear communication skills

- Organization skill

- Accuracy in data entry

- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to; fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
