PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR

The McGough Supply and Rental Procurement Director (MPR) will be responsible for the logistics and purchasing of materials and equipment required to complete construction projects. The MPR comes with hands on experience creating, organizing, and leading procurement. This person will be on the ground floor developing new policies to advance the McGough Supply and Rental’s current procurement practices.

To be successful in this role, you should have a solid background in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry. You should also have excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as a keen eye for quality and detail.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5-7 years of procurement/purchasing experience in the construction industry or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in the MEP supply chain management

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable manufacturers and distributors.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Investigate and implement new software solutions to advance procurement management with a focus on leveraging AI.
  • Work with McGough business leaders to identify project procurement opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Preparing procurement reports.
  • Capture business demands and handle competitive tendering, negotiation and contract execution to Optimize McGough Construction’s speed to market and self-perform capabilities.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with the McGough Construction to support demand forecasting and contracting strategies; collaborate with estimating, project management, and other leaders.
  • Work effectively between across business units / departments to optimize purchasing opportunities.
  • Manage documentation, budgets, schedules, and key stakeholder interfaces in preparation for weekly procurement management meetings.
  • Identify and run due diligence on potential new manufacturers / distributors.
  • Act as the sole point of contact to suppliers in the sourcing process
  • Guide and support stakeholders with any contract implementation, contract management or supplier-related issues
  • Maintain active pricing history and data.
  • Grow the MSR business and manage all aspects of the procurement company.  Including the possibility of:
    • Hiring
    • Managing project management and procurement direct reports
