Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties of the buildings regularly
    • Perform any combination of following duties: sweeps, mops, scrubs, sanitizes, and vacuums hallways, stairs, and offices.
    • Maintaining different types of flooring. This includes waxing and polishing hard floors and shampooing carpets.
    • Cleaning and restocking restrooms, ensuring they are well-maintained and stocked with necessary supplies such as soap and paper towels.
    • Empty trash and recycling containers ensuring proper waste removal. 
  • Perform limited grounds maintenance:
    • Cleans debris from grounds including sidewalk, lawn, rock beds, shrubs, flowers, and parking lots.
    • Removes snow from parking lots and sidewalks.
    • Mows lawn, string trims, sprays weeds and trim bushes using hand tools, power tools, and lawn mower.
  • Performs Building maintenance responsibilities.
    • Preventive maintenance.
    • Minor repairs by way of electronic work orders and verbal request. This may include fixing leaky faucets, unclogging drains, changing light bulbs, and air filters, etc.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly janitor’s rooms including storage areas, shops, garage etc. Ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked by means of electronic monthly inventory.
  • Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, furniture, etc. in the building(s).
  • Maintains work related records and prepares work reports as directed.
  • Maintain building and grounds security by opening the building each business day.
  • Work on call as needed at any time for emergency repairs, snow removal, equipment monitoring, overtime, or special needs falling out-side of normal working hours.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, impartial professional relationship with the general public and other employees. Develops and maintains a positive cooperative working relationship with other County departments.  

Here’s what will get you noticed:

  • High school / GED or a combination of education, training and experience required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and lawn care, practices, and knowledge of equipment including buffers, scrubbers, mops, lawn mowers, weed eaters, snow removal equipment etc.  

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of communicating verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department heads.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with other employees, agencies of government, and the public.

Here’s what we offer:

  • This position pays $18.01 per hour.
