You are an innovative, self-directed individual who thrives on multi-tasking while maintaining high attention to detail to fill our Internship role in our Service department. You enjoy collaborating with a dynamic team and take a positive and proactive approach with both internal and external customers to build and maintain solid relationships. Internship – Service 

The role is to provide support in the areas of Field Engineering, Project Management, Operations, or as assigned. This is a temporary, full time paid internship designed to provide on-the-job experience for those interested in a learning experience. Interns will be assigned specific responsibilities within the company based on their background and interest. This program is a valuable opportunity for interns to understand the integration of academic learning with the day-to-day processes of business and operational functions. The program will also familiarize interns with the specific skills needed to be successful in a construction company. Required to deliver a “report-out” presentation at the end of internship.

  • Work closely with functional business groups to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives to drive success
  • Assists with projects and ensure that the functionality is developed in a way that complies with business requirements and established methodologies and practices
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions as directed.
  • Safely manage all operations in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Support customer satisfaction strategies executed to assure the long-term viability of the operation.
  • Represent the company both internally and externally in a professional manner consistent with our values and mission.
  • Actively participate in programs, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and corporation.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college, or undergraduate college student who has completed junior year at a 4-year university, or two years of directly related experience within applicable field
  • Majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Quality and Safety, or related field of study.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications including MSOffice; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and consistent with our values and mission
  • Valid state drivers’ license with ability to schedule local and regional travel to job sites and client locations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a results driven mindset.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Primarily a stationary position for a considerable portion of the day (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
  • Travel to project sites, or other APi Group company locations as needed.
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant and/or customer environments. PPE required when in the plant, yard, customer, or construction areas include:

  • Hard Hat
  • Safety Glasses / Goggles
  • Steel-toed Boots
  • High Visibility Vest
  • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
  • Gloves
  • Personal Fall Arrest Harness (as applicable)
