We are currently searching for Ironworkers to work an outage project in the Savannah, GA. (this could possibly turn into long-term employment).  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to safely work at heights up to and in excess of 100 ft.
  • Be able to identify tools required for tasks.
  • Assemble and/or fabricate equipment, structures, towers, vessels, conveyors, etc. from instructions from supervisors and/or prints.
  • Must have knowledge of safe rigging practices. Rigging certifications are a plus.
  • Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging, such as cables, pulleys, or chain falls, to move heavy equipment or materials.
  • Must have knowledge of signaling practices. Signaling certifications are a plus.
  • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels. 
  • Pull, push, or pry structural steel and/or equipment into approximate positions for bolting into place. 
  • Connecting structural steel members following prints and/or instructions from supervisors.
  • Modification of structural steel by cutting and welding.
  • Unloading and positioning prefabricated material and equipment for hoisting as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous Ironworker experience
  • Ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions
  • Capable of working at a sustained pace and produce quality work
  • Must be accountable for conduct and have excellent attendance
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed

 

Work Environment:

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
