INTERNSHIP/CO-OP, PROJECT MANAGEMENT

McGough is committed to providing our interns with a well-rounded, hands-on opportunity in the construction industry. Our interns are selected for specific projects, which will allow for a breadth of experience. We also expose our interns to a wide variety of roles outside the Project Management realm for a 360º view of our entire organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, update and issue bid solicitation letters to subs
  • Perform quantity take-offs
  • Receive and review subcontractor bids
  • Complete trade scope reviews and recap sheets
  • Draft Owner notification letters of selected subcontractor recommendation
  • Regular project schedule updates
  • Review, submit and track Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Review, submit and track Submittals and manage overall process
  • Punchlist tracking and monitoring
  • Ensure proper project closeouts
  • Update and review Cost Control Log
  • Attending and participating in PM and other corporate meetings
  • Attend any training, personal/professional development relevant to this position

Job Qualifications:

  • Prefer a junior or senior in the Construction Management or Construction Engineering field of study
  • Field experience is a plus
  • Enjoys problem solving and fast-paced environments
  • Works well in a team, but with a strong sense of self-direction
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
