HELP DESK TECHNICIAN

The Help Desk Technician will play a crucial role in providing seamless technical and operational support from our IS team to our End Users in a timely manner. The Help Desk Technician will have strong skills in creating and maintaining detailed support and training documentation. The Help Desk Technician will be able to collaborate with both internal and external partners to analyze and diagnose problem tickets to identify root causes and implement solutions. The Help Desk Technician will work with the software SMEs to help bridge the gap between information Systems and the end user; so that both groups understand how the application works.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, or equivalent experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems recommended.
  • 2+ years’ experience with ERP applications, financial and business processes recommended.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex ideas into simple language for non-technicians.
  • A good understanding of accounting concepts and practices
  • A good understanding of Project Management principles and concepts
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and respond to multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with interruptions as problems arise needing immediate attention.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, influence, and constructively engage others at all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

  • They assess business process requirements and identify application solutions keeping an awareness of the latest software development and how it can make business more efficient and successful.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage project risks and issues to resolution.
  • Ensure timely and consistent communication
  • Coordinate analysis and resolve issues on all system upgrades and changes.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assess business process requirements and identify application solutions keeping an awareness of the latest software development and how it can make business more efficient and successful.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage project risks and issues to resolution.
  • Ensure timely and consistent communication
  • Coordinate analysis and resolve issues on all system upgrades and changes.
  • Provide systems-related technical support and problem resolution by reviewing issues and providing relevant solutions.

Office and Travel:

Travel between office sites in the Twin Cities may be necessary to support the customers in different metro office locations, so a good, reliable vehicle is required.  Outstate travel not required.

This position requires the ability to lift PC’s, laptops, monitors and other technology related equipment.  Sitting or standing for long periods of time may be necessary for the configuration of systems. 

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.   During these visits, safety gear must be worn including hard hat and safety vest.
