Job Description:

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our nonprofit organization. The CFO will be under the direct supervision of the President/CEO and be a member of the senior management team.  As the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our organization and ensuring financial stability and growth.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise all employees in the Finance Department. Finance Department employees will complete the tasks of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, audit preparation, cash receipts, cash deposits, cash disbursements, bank account reconciliations, individuals served funds management, Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities billings, preparation of financial reports for residential homes and other bookkeeping duties.


•    Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's mission and goals.
•    Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
•    Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
•    Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other external partners.
•    Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for both the Michael Dunn Center and the Michael Dunn Foundation.
•    Data entry and submission of Annual Audit Reports to Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for three corporations.
•    Audit preparation and general ledger adjustments for annual independent audits for five corporations.
•    Annual preparation and submission of supporting tax documents for 990 returns.
•    Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.


Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•    CPA certification preferred but not mandatory.
•    Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management practices and regulations.
•    Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
•    Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
