At CL Construction a Concrete Paving Operator is critical to the success of our paving Team. An operator must be focused, driven, motivated, and have the ability to see the full scope of surrounding paving activity. Acting proactively to avoid future issues and guide laborers through the completion of the project is also an important part of this role. Possessing the desire and ability to work well with others and positively represent the company at all times is required. A predictable and reliable attendance pattern, appropriate behavior, and adherence to safety standards are critical to success at CL Construction. Our Concrete Paving Teams may travel from time to time. When required, travel is most often Monday – Friday, and transportation and lodging are company paid as is daily meal per diem. Our current search is for a backup paving operator completing other duties with the team as required.  

Desired experience and knowledge

• 3 years experience working around a slipform paver (6 months or more of operator experience preferred)
• Basic knowledge of the mechanical functionality of a slipform paver
• Experience working with, in-front of or behind a slipform paver
• Basic knowledge of all aspects of concrete paving operations, both mechanical and manual

Required skills and abilities

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal right to work in the United States
• A desire to work hard and create a finished product you can be proud of
• The ability to maintain a predictable and reliable attendance pattern
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs frequently and 100lbs occasionally
• Skills to read a tape measure, level, use powered tools and hand tools
• Flexibility to bend, twist, kneel, lift, push, pull, stand and sit throughout each shift
• Manual dexterity to grip, hold, carry, use hand tools and move materials
• Capacity to be on your feet an entire shift, wearing safety toe shoes & on a variety of walking surfaces
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and in loud, dusty environments

Pay based on experience and qualifications $20 - $24/hour
