Laborers are responsible for executing a wide range of heavy manual physical tasks while adhering to strict safety guidelines and procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and a proactive attitude in identifying and mitigating potential hazards. This is a safety-sensitive position.

 

Description

  • Safety First: Prioritize safety above all else, and consistently follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Physical Labor: Perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, digging, and carrying heavy materials, as required by the job.
  • Hazard Identification: Identify and report potential safety hazards or issues on job sites to supervisors or safety personnel.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate various tools and equipment, including but not limited to, power tools, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials, supplies, and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
  • Site Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring debris and hazards are promptly addressed.
  • PPE Compliance: Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and safety officers regarding safety concerns and job progress.
  • Emergency Response: Act swiftly and responsibly in the event of emergencies, such as fires, accidents, or spills.
  • Training: Participate in ongoing safety training and attend safety meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and regulations.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of daily tasks including Timecard compliance.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Valid Driver's License 
  • Hiring will be contingent on passing a drug screen and a Motor Vehicle Report Record check 
  • May require out of town work 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

    1. Previous experience in labor-intensive roles, construction, or related fields preferred.
    2. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
    3. Strong commitment to safety and awareness of safety procedures.
    4. Capacity to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
    5. Willingness to obtain necessary certifications or licenses, such as forklift operation or first aid/CPR.
    6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
    7. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends, as required.

    Working Conditions:

    • The Safety-Sensitive Laborer will work primarily outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions.
    • The role may involve exposure to dust, noise, and hazardous materials.
    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory and will be provided by the company.
