Position Summary  

In this role you will use your sales, design, project management and other construction expertise to support timber frame projects for our development team. You will be responsible for educating potential timber frame clients and stewarding them through the early phases of the design and planning process. This entails ensuring that new projects align with the values of both clients and Bensonwood.  

While some travel may be required, the position is based in Walpole, NH. Your primary responsibilities will include:  

  • Communicate with prospective timber frame partner architects, builders, and clients to learn their project goals and to share the company’s values, processes, and products.  
  • Engage and educate potential clients on Bensonwood’s design and build processes and sustainable building practices and materials so you can ascertain if there is a strong fit to work together. 
  • Proactively scan known sources for RFPs.   
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, institutions, and other entities that are possible long-term partners.  Gain the confidence of appropriate clients that Bensonwood is the best choice for achieving their desired timber frame design and building objectives.  
  • Gather appropriate information to determine the feasibility of projects, including: location, zoning regulations, site surveys, program requirements, desired building style, budget, etc.  
  • Communicate directly with clients, builders, and subcontractors regarding all aspects of BWC package fulfillment and collaborate with changing teams of architects, designers, and engineers to ensure project feasibility.  
  • Work with in-house estimators to project cost information.   
  • Prepare contracts and change orders, including negotiation on terms & conditions  
  • Maintain excellent and easily-retrievable documentation of processes, including meeting agendas and minutes, client decisions, specifications, job reports, and written and verbal communication  
  • Attend or conduct site visits with clients, architects, and subcontractors.  
  • Maintain accounts in the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to provide the highest level of customer service and accurate forecasting.  

Minimum Qualifications  
In this role, you will develop new skills, contribute to our team culture, and have the opportunity for advancement. The minimum experience required for this position includes:  

  • 5-7+ years in timber frame architectural design, construction, project management, or design/build customer service with a collaborative approach.  
  • Degree in architecture, construction management, engineering or related field preferred. 
  • Expertise in sustainable design and building.  
  • Expertise in providing consultative style service.  
  • Expertise in estimating construction budgets.  
  • A strategic approach to business growth.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Extensive proposal writing, proposal management, and presentation experience.  
  • Understanding of building codes and zoning regulations.  
  • Positive, team player that thrives in a fast-moving environment.  

 

Compensation & Benefits
