Job Summary:

TOLM Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Estimating Engineer to join our team of construction professionals. We need someone with strong math skills and excellent communication skills to write proposals, cost estimates, and detailed takeoffs on our construction projects.

Reports to:

• Senior Estimator

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Visit construction sites to obtain necessary client requirement information.
• Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole.
• Work closely with the construction Lead Estimator to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
• Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine overall cost for construction projects.
• Produce written proposals, cost estimates, and budgets.
• Provide accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs.

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Education:

• Associate or Bachelors’ degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is preferred.
• Understanding of data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics is vital.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and very strong math skills
• Stellar communication and time-management skills are crucial
