Essential and Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must have Construction Project Management experience of 10+ years in the construction of Water, Water Treatment and/or Wastewater Treatment Plants.
- Post-college field experience in heavy industrial construction, estimating, purchasing, submittal review, CAD, and cost control.
- Results-oriented with ability to manage people and tasks in a deadline driven environment.
- Commitment to working safely
- Leadership style that mirrors Thieneman values throughout the workday
- Ability to train and mentor others on the team
- Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and the imagination to drive the most efficient method of completing a task
- Foresight to predict problems before they develop
- A conscientious attitude toward controlling job costs and adhering to progress schedules
- Ability to communicate our plan and sequence of activities to members of the Thieneman team, all subcontractors and material suppliers to effectively implement our goals
- Ability to clearly communicate with the Engineer-of-Record, onsite inspector, and our employees while maintaining the utmost professionalism
- Ability to thoroughly understand and follow plans and specifications in the construction of projects
- Proficient MS Office and email skills
- Unexpired Driver’s License and clean driving history, as defined by our insurance company’s standards.
Project Management
- Understand basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to completion projections to make decisions accordingly.
- Understand our pricing model and billing procedures.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Follow up with clients, when necessary, for unpaid invoices
- Accurately forecast and analyze project profitability, margins, and utilization
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes.
- Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards.
- Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimize our exposure and risk on a project.
- Ensure project documents are complete and current
- Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Manage project budget.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor receivables for project.
- Accurately forecast and analyze revenue and bill rates.
- Assure project legal documents are completed and signed.
