We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in payroll processing, coupled with in-depth knowledge of payroll tax laws. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll taxes, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and providing support for various payroll-related activities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

To include, but not limited to the following:

  • Payroll Tax Processing:
    • Process CTS Tax batches, including any manual payrolls.
    • Review and validate transactional data to continuously accumulated data.
    • Map all new tax codes in AX.
    • Handle all tax fallouts from Ceridian Tax.
    • Submit any necessary Ceridian/ITIL tickets.
    • Process necessary tax return amendments.
  • Compliance Management:
    • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct periodic audits to identify and rectify any discrepancies in payroll tax filings.
    • Provide support for audits.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting:
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of payroll tax transactions and filings.
    • Generate and submit accurate payroll tax reports to regulatory authorities, as required.
    • Work with BI Tools created specifically for taxable/tax validation.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll taxes promptly.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and concerns related to payroll taxes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with finance, human resources, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll tax processes.
    • Provide necessary information and support during internal and external audits.
    • Be a key player in backing up the tax team when needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the payroll tax function and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Tax Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Preferred experience in payroll processing.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and related tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits and Compensation:

This role is open to fully remote employment, with a directing branch in Centennial CO and corporate HQ in New Brighton MN. The pay range is $59,000 - $92,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.  Some benefits include:
