Houck is looking for a creative and motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to join our Marketing Team. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to build your portfolio and gain valuable experience in marketing within the construction industry. Responsibilities include content creation, social media management, photography, and videography. This is an intern position with the potential for full time employment.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in developing and executing social media campaigns across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Capture and edit photos and video footage of projects, employee interviews, and company events to showcase our team, workmanship, and culture.
  • Partner with the Safety Team to visit job sites and create engaging, high-quality content that highlights our team and projects.
  • Create videos, graphics, and photography for social media and other marketing materials.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and track social media engagement metrics.
  • Assist the Marketing Team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to brainstorm and research content ideas.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Houck’s brand identity and messaging.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and an understanding of best practices.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to generate new ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with photo and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite, ZoomInfo, and Constant Contact is preferred.
  • Drone license is a plus.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Photography, Film, Digital Media, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience in social media management or videography is a plus.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment

This position operates in both a professional office environment and on-site at job locations. Traveling to job sites for project photography and videography is required. Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and cameras is essential. Occasional outdoor work may be required.
