Job Description

If you are a Screed Operator with 2 years or more of paving experience with a great team attitude and the knowledge and expertise to deliver an exceptional finished paving project, B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc., Central PA’s leading commercial paving company, is looking for you! Knowledge of screed maintenance, asphalt materials, luting techniques, transverse and longitudinal joints, grades, etc. is important.

Responsibilities

  • Check and maintain a consistent thickness of asphalt materials
  • Properly lute asphalt materials to prevent water puddles and/or imperfections
  • Ensure proper screed settings and paddle box adjustments
  • Maintain proper curb reveals and grades
  • Ensure proper construction overlaps of asphalt joints
  • Monitor asphalt tonnage being installed
  • Install petromat - petrotac material properly
  • Assist in labor duties when not operating the screed
 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License Preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 2 years of paving experience
  • Great team attitude and communication skills
  • Knowledge of asphalt materials, luting techniques, transverse and longitudinal joints, grades, petromat and petrotac
  • Knowledge of screed maintenance
