Job Description

Want to put your CDL experience to work but still be home every night? B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc. is looking for a full-time licensed CDL Driver with the ability to operate a dump truck on the road and on job sites in a safe manner. Must be able to haul fill, stone, rocks; spread stone, and  assist with labor duties as needed. CDL License is required (Class A preferred). Two years of experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck daily.
  • Completes the required daily maintenance of truck.
  • Spreads and dumps loads in a smooth and safe manner.
  • Maintains the truck in compliance with Penn DOT regulations at all times and follows 60-hour rule.
  • Works together with others on the job site to accomplish tasks efficiently.
  • Practices good safety procedures when operating all company equipment.
  • Practices driving techniques that minimize tire, brake, and clutch wear.
  • Operates truck in a courteous and safe manner on highway.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • CDL B required (Class A preferred)
  • Knowledge of daily pre-trip inspections and maintenance
  • Familiar with the geographical area 
  • Knowledge of highway regulations and Penn DOT requirements pertaining to CDL trucks
  • Knowledge of proper ways to secure loads
  • General knowledge of excavating equipment in order to load truck when necessary
  • General knowledge of the functions of excavating and paving
