At CL Construction our Concrete Paving Laborers and Finishers are driven, motivated, willing to take direction, work well with others and represent the company in a positive manner at all times. This Team is responsible for all tasks related to the processes of prepping, pouring, and finishing our concrete paving projects. These tasks will include work such as fine grading, setting string, setting baskets and additional steel. The team is also responsible for puddling, pouring, texturing, curing, sawing, and sealing the paved concrete. A predictable and reliable attendance pattern, appropriate behavior, and adherence to safety standards are critical to success in this role. Our Concrete Paving Teams may travel from time to time. When required, travel is most often Monday – Friday.
Desired experience and knowledge
- 1 – 2 years Concrete Paving experience
- Jobsite Prep – fine grading, setting string, forming, shimming, setting baskets & additional steel
- Concrete – puddling, pouring, texturing, curing, sawing, and sealing
- Experience building curb by hand and running a straight edge
- Working with, in-front of or behind a slip form paver helpful
- Concrete or construction jobsite knowledge
Required skills and abilities
- A desire to work hard and create a finished product you can be proud of
- The ability to maintain a predictable and reliable attendance pattern
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs frequently and 100lbs occasionally
- Skills to read a tape measure, level, use powered tools and hand tools
- Flexibility to bend, twist, kneel, lift, push, pull, stand and sit throughout each shift
- Manual dexterity to grip, hold, carry, use hand tools and move materials
- Capacity to be on your feet an entire shift, wearing safety toe shoes & on a variety of walking surfaces
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and in loud, dusty environments
Pay based on experience and qualifications $18 - $26/hour
