Chief Financial Officer

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to manage the financial activity of the company, including both the treasury and accounting functions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial and accounting plans, policies and procedures to ensure the company's financial health and support its growth objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, including overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities
  • Analyze financial data including Work-in-Progress reports, under-billings, etc, and measure trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor and manage the company's financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow, and provide regular reporting to the executive team and board of directors
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, including project-related risks, market risks, and regulatory compliance risks
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, bonding agents, insurance agents, investment advisors, vendors
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations, systems, and controls to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of financial information
  • Provide oversight and support to the activities of the Human Resources Director to satisfy the needs of the company and the overall corporate initiatives, including administration of all benefit programs and insurance programs
  • Serve as co-trustee of the 401k plan and maintain responsibility for the overall administration of the plan
  • Provide oversight and support to the activities of the IT Director to satisfy needs of the company and the overall corporate initiatives, including hardware, software, job-site needs, security, etc.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting the construction industry and financial management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role within the construction industry or a related field
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, project costing, and financial management in a contracting environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
