The CNC Machinist plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Thern® products.  This position will be responsible for helping to produce high-quality manufactured products used all over the world.  The successful candidate will setup and operate conventional, special-purpose, CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.  

As a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist at Thern®, you’ll be pat of a legacy spanning over 75 years, delivering top-notch lifting, pulling and positioning equipment to various industries.  We’re seeking a dynamic individual with high level attention to detail and a drive for results for CNC Machinist role.  If you’re ready to make a substantial difference in a vibrant manufacturing setting, we encourage you to apply and become an essential contributor to our growing team.

 

Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•    Performing quality inspections on product.
•    Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
•    Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. 
•    Operates machine to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
•    Verifies conformance of finished workpiece using measuring and inspection tools.
•    Sets up and operates machine to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
•    Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

 

Qualifications:

•    Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
•    Demonstrate strong organizational, planning and prioritization ability.
•    Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
•    Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills
•    Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast pace environment.  
•    Demonstrate our core values.
•    Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. 
•    Prior machining experience
•    Possess a 2-year associates degree in either a tool and die or machining degree
