We are looking for an enthusiastic HR intern to join our team for the summer! The right candidate will be eager for a learning opportunity as this is a great entry into employee relations, benefits, and the employee life cycle. The HR intern will be a core team member and will dive into day-to-day HR functions, as well as assist the HR Director with ongoing projects.   

 Responsibilities:

  • Support daily HR operations including, but not limited to, participating in employee relations, employee life cycle administration, administering employee changes, orientation, and onboarding, exit interviews, and benefit planning.
  • Use critical thinking skills to analyze HR processes for ways to automate and streamline to increase efficiency.
  • Support onboarding efforts including ensuring completion of new hire paperwork, submitting I9s and reviewing background results. Provide recommendations to enhance the 90-day onboarding experience.
  • Participate in the company Morale Team to drive engagement initiatives in the Spartanburg office. Brainstorm creative initiatives for increasing employee engagement in the field.
  • Travel to work sites and regional offices to learn about HR in the field while observing ways to improve communication strategies.
  • Participate in benefit discussions in preparation for fall Open Enrollment.

 Requirements:

  • Ideally pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, or related major.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a bias towards process improvement.
  • Ability to travel on an ad hoc basis. Minimal travel required but will have occasional site and regional office visits.
  • Detail driven and have a demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, grasp, reach with hands and arms, see, speak, and hear. Frequently stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Most work is performed in office environment.
