We are seeking a Full-Time Teller/Operations Associate to join the team at our Parkston location. This position is responsible for taking deposits, withdrawals, understanding all products and services including digital banking. Other duties are transfers for customers as well as opening new deposit accounts, selling money orders, cashing bonds and the like. This position will work with customers in person, the drive-thru, phone lines, and online submissions.

 Work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

 Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Perform paying and receiving functions for customers. This will include taking deposits, withdrawals, and transfers from customers. Additionally, the teller may sell money orders and help customers with additional related services.
  • Provide a high level of customer service in person or by phone. This includes understanding customer needs, as well as understanding the bank products offered, the ability to explain the value of those products to customers and refer customers to the appropriate department.
  • Support customers with maintenance questions concerning their accounts. This will include address changes, check orders, debit card transactions and disputes.
  • Assist walk-in customers with their new account needs. This will include checking, savings, certificates and the like.
  • Assist walk-in and phone customers with problems or service issues to their account(s).
  • Will be expected to cross-sell and refer customers and prospects to bank products.
  • Participate as part of various retail product campaigns the Bank initiates.
  • Process night deposits including recording items and verifying currency.
  • May be included in a rotating schedule.
  • Practices branch security procedures and protects customer confidentiality and privacy.
  • Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures of the bank to keep errors to a minimum and reduce internal and external friction.
  • As part of the overall team of Bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.
  • May perform additional duties as necessary to keep the Bank operating efficiently and effectively such as overdraft returns, rejects, checkbacks, scanning, ATM, safety deposit box, opening and closing accounts, building accounts on core system, Remote Deposit approvals and denials.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Prior banking and or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
